Strangers to ourselves is a contemporary visual arts project whose form reflects its subject matter: migration, dislocation and exile. The exhibition has been devised to encompass the stretch of coast running along the South East of England and involves more than 13 galleries and public spaces- one attached to a municipal library, another to a tourist information centre, three museums, two hospitals, and works that exist beyond the confines of the gallery. Conceived on an ambitious scale it is an exhibition that perhaps no-one will see in its entirety.
